~ Sanctuary Farm ~

Sanctuary Farm is a unique paradise defying the 21st century. Our cows graze in the meadows and are still milked by hand. Herds of wildebeest, impala, giraffe, zebras, water buck and sometimes buffalo roam wild on our 455-acre conservancy by day. By night the hyenas, serval cats, jackals and bat eared foxes are on the prowl, along with large numbers of hippos who come out of the lake to eat Sanctuary Farm’s lush grass. Most of the wildlife are accustomed to living alongside people and it is possible to walk and horse-ride in close proximity to the many of the wild animals here.

The farm was originally bought by Francis Erskine in the 70’s who was passionate about horses and put in the polo ground, stables and a polo club house. The farm was also used to breed and train Francis’s race horses until his son Guy and daughter in law Julie began converting farm buildings into beautiful cottages, campsites and generally opening Sanctuary Farm to share with guests from all over the world.

Sanctuary Farm is the perfect place to use as a base for climbing Mt Longonot, rock climbing & gorge walking in Hell’s Gate, game viewing in Nakuru Park and at the end of an hectic day; relaxing around our beautiful swimming pool with the game grazing beyond and attentive staff who only want to help you enjoy your stay as much as they can. One doesn’t need to leave the farm to enjoy, horse riding, walking, bird watching and cycling in a safe private environment, whilst enjoying the numerous species of wildlife and world class birdlife that are protected on our farm away from the madding crowds.
